Grafikspam is the personal portfolio of Christian Layugan. A child genius who once considered a career as a lawyer and then decided he'd rather make funny pictures for clients after realising his doodles were better than his arguments. So he joined a place called an agency or a “client-whore house” as he would call it. There he developed an uncanny passion for Design in mediums such as Interactive, Motion, Print, Photography and a very nasty Star Wars Paraphernalia. This allowed him to add his special powers as a Designer on projects for companies such as, Hutchison 3G Mobile (Three), Unilever, Vivendi Games, 20th Century Fox Films, Pacific Publications, Bacardi-Lion, Samsung Electronics, Walden Media, Coca-Cola, Columbia Tri-Star, EMI Music, Nokia, Reebok, Sony Music, Universal Pictures, Yahoo! and many more. Currently working at Crispin Porter + Bogusky as a Interactive Art Director & Designer.

Nanami Cowdroy Nanami has just launched a new jewelry line spawned from her own amazing artwork. My Students I have been lecturing over at Billy Blue College of Design for nearly 4 years now and I have just gotten some final designs for a project I gave them which was primarily based on pixel perfect mocks. The exact same process of how we do what we do at SOAP. What's come out is absolutely beautiful and I have posted some on my Flickr page to see what I am talking about... and they are only 2nd year students. [13 November, 2008]

Same, Same Old friend Gary has his "Same, Same" exhibition on over at the Asia-Australia Arts Center, 181-187 Hay St. Sydney, NSW 2000. Opens on November 22.
Same, Same’ is an installation developed from a project dressed in a black cotton sweater, Gary went around Sydney with his camera and photographed himself with strangers who happened to be wearing a similar outfit. ‘Same, Same’ explores unspoken cultural ‘rules’ or norms - and how allegiance to these ‘rules’ plays a part in constructing our sense of identity. ‘Same, Same’ uses fashion as an artefact of culture to examine what is and is not acceptable in a consumerist, idol-worshipping age. The New SOAP Reel After 6 and a half years we have finally condensed everything into a 2.5 minute reel with around 78 months of work! Come on-a My House. [7 October, 2008]

Not Quite Hollywood The untold rip-snorting story of 'Ozploitation' cinema - that is, Australian genre cinema of the '70s and '80s. An otherwise forgotten cinematic era unashamedly loaded with pubes, boobs, tubes and a little kung fu. Watch the BAD ASS trailer here. [11 August, 2008]

Desktop CREATE Awards 2008 The JUMPER ad on NINEMSN that I worked on in the beginning of the year just got short listed in the finals for the Peoples Choice Award under Best Digital Communication Media. Other SOAP project's that got in were Cornetto and FOXTEL project's also made it in the list. [23 July, 2008]

Imagine a phone with the heart of a 5 mega pixel camera, introducing the "Samsung G600". This new phone is the world first for a pre-paid mobile to have a 5 mega pixel camera. A small mini-site was created to promote the low budget mobile but still show off the high end features that it has.

RE:B00T Animation



An animation loop created for the launch of the "A-League" in Australia. The animation was played in Sydney's HOME night club on twelve 72" display's. This project was a collaborative between MIXED Industry and SOAP Creative.

Bling My Bomb



Take that shitbox Impreza and turn it into a gravel munching, granny scaring pimp mobile from hell. Launched as part of a major promotion for the new mens magazine "EXPLODE" for Pacific Magazines.

A full page OTP advertisement (monster fight scene!) on NINEMSN to promote the Australian release of "JUMPER". The movie opened with the highest grossing opening day with a box office of $953,000!

Reebok NBA Inspector



New range from Reebok to promote the new apparel range of official NBA clothing. Featuring some old school crew from the NBA. Cameo's from Dominique Wilkins, Kenny Smith, Clyde Drexler, James Worthy, Bill Walton, Walt Frazier and Fred Willard.

50 Cent: Bulletproof



A trailer mixer game to promote the "50 Cent: Bulletproof" game. This allowed users to step into the role of a director and cut their own trailer. It was also a way to show off some scenes from the new game.

EPIC MOVIE “Ice Bitch Drift”



A drifting game to promote the release of "EPIC MOVIE". You drive the ICE BITCH around the track while drifting your sled to multiply your score. There is also a bonus "Kill Beaver" section!

Fantastic Four “Flame On”



Promotional site for the release of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" that let's you record yourself in fire just like HUMAN TORCH with your webcam then send your video to your friends.

3 X-Series “Phoenix 1.1”



Concept design for Hutchison 3G International (3 Mobile) for what ended up becoming the global branding for X-Series, 3 Mobile's premium service.

Fantastic Four “Become the Human Torch”



An installation concept for the Australian release of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer". Interactive LCD touch screen display's mounted with camera's that will let you simulate Johnny Storm's power "FLAME ON".

X-3: The Last Stand “X-Planet”



The world first interactive X-Planet created to promote the release of "X-3: The Last Stand". The first film site to integrate Google Maps, enabling users to move around the world and zoom into any location, right down to street level. The Google Maps feature also allows users to develop “mutant” profiles and locate or “pin” themselves to any location on the map, which can be found by other site visitors. When creating their profiles, users can choose to belong to the (good) X-Men tribe or the (evil) Brotherhood tribe.

Online game to promote the new "Samsung D600" that allow's users to solve puzzles and unlock secret room's all by using the mobile phone. This project was a collaboration between RMG Connect and SOAP Creative.

31 Australians under the age of 25 were chosen and their work featured online (through Australian INfront and the Noise website) in print a special Design Graphics magazine feature, Noise magazine [80,000 circulation] and The Australian Newspaper.
